Major Update 1 - New Items + Character Updates
Overview
This update includes 7 new items, item balance changes, and reworks. Alongside those is a character rework along with character changes and other neat changes in this update.
New Items
Twisted Sword ( Common )
- Chance on kill to drop a sword that boosts Attack Damage while inside of its AOE.
- Chance to drop goes up per stack
Spiked Collar ( Common )
- Does a low damage auto-attack to nearby enemies.
- fire rate goes up per stack ( has a cap )
Frost Effigy ( Common )
- Grants a field of frost around the player dealing low damage and slowing enemies.
- Stacking makes the field stronger
Warding Candle ( Common )
- Start every stage with an orbiting candle that applies burn.
- The candle goes out over time
- More candle time per stack
Baby Leech ( Common )
- Hitting enemies heals you.
- Heal goes up per stack
Rock Shell ( Boss )
- Reduces the damage of "heavy" attacks.
- Reduces damage more per stack
Snow Stone ( Boss )
- Walking creates snow that slows enemies and deals low damage.
- More snow per stack
Item Changes
Guardian Ring
- Rarity changed to Boss Rarity
Paint Balls
- Chance to proc changed from 5% to 10%
- On Proc it now fires 1-3 paint balls that deal 2.5x damage + 1x per stack
Sharp Shades
- Evade chance changed from 1% to 5%
- has a hard cap at 50% ( 10 stacks )
Compact Disc and Old Cassette
- CDR changed from 0.015 to 0.025
- The items didn't feel impactful enough, so I gave them a stronger effect that hopefully makes the feel stronger
Honed Knife
- Critical hit damage boost changed from 25% to 35%
- I never really see anyone take this, so maybe by making it a bit stronger maybe people will like it more? who knows!
Tattered Flag
- Tattered Flag now grants a 25% Regen buff and 25% Armor buff and 25% attack speed buff
Full Guard
- Armor buff reduced back to 15 from 20
Unity
- Increases all stats by 10%
- A very powerful item, could get removed or reworked. Not sure yet.
Healing Update
Healing is being slightly re-calculated
Any single instance of healing that heals over 1 Hp will now be shown to the player via a green healing number above the head
Unlocks Update
- Added the "Secrets" tab to the Unlock menu
Item Unlocks
- all items this update will auto-unlock :)
Character Unlocks
Gone Rogue
- not ready yet, so Oni is still unlocked.
Character Changes
All characters ( but The Pure )
- All characters now gain armor per level based on their armor per level start
The Pure
- The Pure's "Change Fate" now maintains the rarity of the item
Vexs
- Primary damage lower from 4.15x to 3.1x
- Stunner now shoots 7 shots instead of 5 shots
- Stunner pellets now deal 2x damage instead of 0.55x
- Stunner now gets CDR when Sword spin hits an enemy
- Sword Toss now comes back a little bit earlier
- Sword Toss can now be recalled by pressing the Skill Two cast button
- Sword Toss hitting an enemy will now activate Vexs secret passive
- All of these changes were put in place with the help of astr0, and put Vexs into a better spot balance-wise, and made them a more technical character. Excited to see the feedback regarding these changes.
- More characters in the EXTERMINARY cast could benefit from a overhaul like this, so possibly expect more characters to get slight reworks like this.
13
- 13 now has the passive "Slayer"
- Slayer: Every 5 primary attacks 13 fire an arrow that deals more damage. Damage is higher on healthier enemies.
- Another change suggested by astr0, 13 was already in a good place in regards to balance, but this change was made to make her more interesting and give her more nuances to her gameplay.

Oni
- Got a skin, Blue from Boken
New Boss
Warden, Bushland Seer
- Is the boss of Archaic Bushlands
Boss Changes
Guardians
- Both Guardians no longer have a "full" chance to drop the boss item, the calculation now accounts for how many bosses were alive at the time.
- Guardian Beam attacks no longer stay after the Guardian has been killed.
Difficulty Changes
"Give Me Your WORST!" ( Hard )
- Enemy damage reduced to 1.15x from 1.25x
- Stage difficulty jump reduced to 1.15x from 1.25x
"Make Me BLEED!" ( Very Hard )
- Enemy health reduced to 1.1x from 1.25x
- Stage difficulty jump reduced to 1.25x from 1.5x
- Fall damage multiplier reduced to 1.5x from 1.78x
- I feel like that might have been a bit too punishing...
Regarding the Hard and Very Hard changes to monster health and damage
- The game already gets harder with time, so making monsters hit harder or making them tankier along with the upscaled difficulty timer is just annoying, not fun
- The previous multipliers made the difficulties more annoying than fun. Hopefully, these new numbers keep the difficulty while making these more fun to play
"EXTERMINARY MUST DIE" ( unfair ) and "EXTERMINARY MUST DIE AGAIN" ( unfair + )
- Temporarily removed
- These difficulties don't really add anything to the game besides an unwinnable game mode.
Bug FIxes
Legendary Chests not dropping items has been fixed
Ghost attacks speed being lower on her main skin has been fixed
