Major Update 2 - New Items, New Character + Balance changes
Overview
This update adds 15 new items, adds a new type of item, a new ( in progress ) character, and many many more changes
New Items
Common Items
Bent Glasses
- Grants 5% crit chance per stack, and crits give temporary armor
- The armor cap goes up with each stack
Motion Restrictor
- Chance on hit to slow enemies down
- Duration of the slow goes down per stack
Faded Photo
- Gain damage when below 50% hp
Champs Medal
- Chance to gain more money
Tote Bag
- Small chance to keep a consumable when used
- Stacks hyperbolically
Rare Items
Strange Key
- Chance for the ship to drop another item
- The item is always common
Yoyo
- Killing enemies gives temporary attack speed
- The attack speed cap goes up with each level
Soul Capacitor
- Dealing damage to nearby enemies heals you
Party Hat
- Gain a familiar that shoots for you.
Honey Charm
- Gain a bee familiar that heals you with honey orbs ( very, very cute might I add )
Legendary Items
Corrupted Growth
- Chance to duplicate a consumable on use
Zapcap
- chance on hit to deal a % of the target's health as damage
Death Vow
- On death, surviving for 30 seconds without being harmed revives the player.
- Getting hurt during this time will kill the player for good
- Has the lowest priority for revives in the game
Boss Items
Nucleation Zygote
- Harming elite enemies shoots out a volley of seeking bullets
- This attack has a short cooldown
Haunting Tuft
- Gain attack speed, and harming enemies grants a small cooldown reduction for all cooldowns
Flourishing Branch
- Healing effects are slightly stronger, and taking any damage will heal you slightly
Item Changes
Warding Candle and Frost Effigy
- Both removed
- ( I wasn't really happy with the state these items were in )
Full Vision
- Now unlockable
- ( I was stupid and messed up the unlock criteria )
Party Balloon
- Now reduces gravity instead of reducing max fall speed
Full Guard
- Armor buff increased to 20 from 15
Rare Geode
- Changed overall, now has a 25% proc chance that gives 3% + 2% per stack of a chests cost
Vitality
- Health increase now form 15% to 2 flat HP
Paintballs
- Now has a proc chance of 5% ( 10% was a little too much )
Shock Shard
- Now grants a small movement speed buff when picked up
Sharp Shades
- Now grants 10% block chance, but stacks hyperbolically
Falling Blossom
- Description changed to reflect the item's true effect
- The items regen speed increase is now 0.12 seconds instead of 0.1 seconds
Guide Book
- It's red now!
Halo
- Is now a Boss Item

Consumable Items
Consumable items are simple, in that they are smaller items that can typically only be used once. They have their own special slot, as only one can be held at a time.
As of writing this, there are 18 consumable items, with 2 of them being passive.
Diamond Card
- Duplicates some of your money
Ruby Card
- Gives a damage up for a short time
Emerald Card
- Heals for a small amount, and clears hard damage
Amethyst Card
- Gives a large amount of armor for a short time
Hot Chocy❤️
- Heals the player for a larger amount several times
Black Box
- Repeats the effect of the previous consumable
Soul Stone
- Rerolls all passive items visible on screen
Void Stone
- Consumes all items visible on screen, in exchange for permanent stat boosts
Ion Storm
- Casts down ionic beams dealing massive damage
Chaos Shard
- Rolls items up or down a rarity.
- Does not effect boss items
- If a roll is not possible, it will roll the item within its own rarity
Tyro Card
- Turns passive items into consumables
Cracked Spearhead
- While held, bosses are more likely to drop their own boss item
Tiny Star
- While held, the player mains various flat stat boosts
Flipped Tyro Card
- Turns consumable items into passive items.
- The item it spawns has an equal chance to be any rarity, with the exception of Boss items and Untiered items
Mitoser
- Duplicates any item
- Can not duplicate itself
Book of Life
- Gives a permanent health upgrade, and gives invincibility for a short time
Book of Blood
- Gives a permanent damage upgrade, along with temporary damage, armor, and move speed buff
Corrupt Pearl
- When used it gives the player 2 items, and deals hard damage to the player. The higher the hard damage the higher the rarity of the items spawned.
- When picked up for the first time, the item gives the player 5% corruption chance, a mechanic exclusive to this item. Every use of the item after this point gives at least 2.5% corruption chance, with the amount going up with the hard damage the player has.
- Corruption Chance determines how likely any item is to be replaced with the Corrupt Pearl
Character Changes
13
- Not much has changed with 13 in the current patch.
- Primary skill %damage 2.5x -> 3.2x
- Special skill %damage 5.5x -> 6x
Shadow
- Shadow gained a passive that gives them the Void Stone consumable. This consumable comes back every stage.
The Pure
- The Pure got some massive changes this update
- The Secondary skill is now a beam that deals 3.5x damage 10 times a second The Special skill now consumes items, charging The Pure's Wisp Bar. Once the Wisp Bar is full, they will gain a wisp.
Ghost
- Ghosts also got some pretty massive changes
- Ghost now always deals a critical strike every 7 primary attacks.
- This critical strike deals 3x more extra damage than a normal crit would.
- Ghost now longer gains attack speed normally, with her losing 75% of the attack speed she gains, but converts some of the lost speed into base damage.
- Ghost also gains a 5% crit damage multiplier every level, with no cap to this effect.
- Ghost also gains a 2.5% crit damage for every stack of Full Metal Jacket she holds.
Vexs
- Vexs primary now has a proc coeff of 1 from its previous 0.5
New Character
Nova
- Nova is a new character who's whole game plan revolves around their randomness.
- At the start of the run, Nova gains random stats. They are not completely random, as they *try* to come out somewhat balanced. For example, if you happen to roll low speed the game will try to compensate and give you health instead.
- This character also has 3 random primary attacks, and 3 random special attacks, with *hopefully* more to come in future updates.
- Nova's Special skill is a short range teleport
- Overall, Nova is pretty interesting, but needs some tweaks and polishing, as they are unfinished as of writing this.
Music!
The game now has a ( currently incomplete ) soundtrack!
- Since it isn't fully ready, it a few stages have tracks from other stages
- Also also, since all of the tracks aren't done, the music is off by default, but holding "`" and "m" will toggle the music

Enemies / Bosses
New Enemies
- Crystal Crawler
- Appears in Stage 4's Moonlit Waterway
- Rock Blimp
- Appears in Stage 4's Ridge
- Credence
- Appears in a minion of the Seraph Boss
- Abyssal Wengoon
- Appears in Stages 5's Abyss
New Bosses
- Seraph
- Appears after looping on any stage that has a soul altar, with the exception Stage 4's Ridge
- Spawns the Credence enemy in one of their attacks
- The Bastion
- Appears on Stages 4's Moonlit Waterway
Boss Spawns
- After looping, the bosses that may spawn on a stage are altered a little bit
Augments!
Augments are run modifiers that completely change how the player approaches the game. So far there are only a few that are finished, but there are currently 9 planned in total.
The finished augments are
- Hurt a lot
- You deal 10x damage, but have a 10th of your health
- Weak Knees
- Fall damage is always fatal
- Annihilation
- When enemies die they release lethal explosions
- Plague
- All damage taken deals additional hard damage
- Destination
- The order of stages is randomized
Other changes / bug fixes
The Frost debuff now slows enemies down instead of stunning them
- Frost also no longer deals any damage
- The slowing effect is gradual, slowing down by 3% roughly 4 times a second
Added Win Streaks ( and Lose Streaks ) to the game
Most enemies do not attack the player as soon as they spawn anymore
